Managing extremes
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve some of the most profound hormonal changes across the life course, yet their effects on mood, mental health and wellbeing vary widely between individuals.
Managing Extremes investigates why some people adapt well to these transitions while others become more vulnerable to conditions such as postpartum depression.
By following hormonal, psychological and biological changes across pregnancy and early parenthood, the programme aims to identify individual risk and resilience profiles and lay the groundwork for earlier detection, prevention and more personalised support.
